# Release Notes
# 2.5.0 Release
August 19, 2025
- Shapefile Management: Added ability to upload and manage shapefiles as map layers.
- New 'Shapefiles' tab in the top menu for uploading, deleting, grouping, and editing shapefiles.
- Multiple shapefiles can grouped together to create a single map layer.
- Shapefile properties (color, line width, opacity) can be customized.
- Shapefiles are stored at the repo level and are available to all users, across all inventory evaluations in the repo.
- Copy/Paste Functionality: Added copy/paste feature for wells in the inventory editor.
- New 'Copy Wells' and 'Paste Wells' tools in the map's left menu.
- Standard keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V) work in the table view.
- Pasted wells retain location but receive new well and scenario names.
- Wells can be copied from map selection and pasted into Excel.
- Gun Barrel Enhancements:
- Wells can be colored by pad, scenario, or landing target.
- Pad grouping is based on well naming convention with configurable prefix length.
- Added gun barrel (GB) table showing all displayed wells (PDP and PUD) with x-offset distance and TVDSS values.
- Horizontal and vertical distances between wells in the viewer can be toggled on and off.
- Insights Dashboard Updates:
- Multivariate Type Curves: Improved marking experience on the map between grid cells and well sticks. This makes it easier to keep grid cells selected while selecting PDP wells, and vice versa.
- Inventory Well Predictions: PDP prodution curves in the Inventory Prediction tab are now normalized by user defined settings (e.g. 10k lateral)
- Moved 'Launch' button from right menu to top menu bar in inventory editor for better visibility.
- Changed default well spacing for inventory draw tool to 1320 ft.
- Fixed bug preventing large inventory batches from saving.
- Added automatic saving of inventory wells when 'Launch' button is clicked.
- Added optional 'Well Offset' input to the inventory draw tool to offset the first inventory well by a specified distance from the reference point.
# 2.4.0 Release
August 5, 2025
- Section layer in base map is now available across all PetroAI maps for all of US. This includes the map in the inventory evaluations and all Insights dashboards.
- Vertical section lines are displayed in the gun barrel viewer.
- Builds now show progress, visible in the 'Build' and 'Compute' pages.
- Fixed a bug that caused builds to fail if the Frac Fingerprint json file was not present in the build directory even when the Frac Fingerprint feature was not enabled.
- Sub-batches are now automatically generated when a build is launched in the Inventory Evaluation tool. This allows for a single batch to be used across multiple builds, and protects against making changes to inventory wells before a build completes.
- Added ability to save type curves to PetroAI and view them from a new 'Type Curves' tab. A Type Curve Viewer dashboard is also available to help users manage and compare type curves.
- Made substantial updates and improvements to the Inventory Dashboard.
- Fixed a bug in the auto-type curve parameters (set oil, set gas).
- Added INV well sticks to the map for better orientation on the Explore Wells and on the Type Curve tab.
- On the Type Curve tab, changed time series table to selected type curve wells, added button to load PDP time series data in the Controls menu.
- On the Inventory Prediction tab, changed color of INV wells, added PDP prod curves in background of INV predictions + Toggle, added ability to toggle both Line by and Color by, rather than the previous Group By.
- Added new query for RAW_prod that joins well_features outside of Spotfire to improve dashboard performance.
# 2.3.0 Release
July 16, 2025
- Added 'batch' as a required filed for inventory builds. Bathes allow for specific subsets of locations to be predicted while keeping all locations in the source table.
- Initial release of a new map editor for creating and editing inventory locations. The new editor allows users to quickly create and edit inventory locations on a map with linked table and gun barrel viewer.
- The gun barrel viewer shows both PDP wells and inventory locations.
- Users can launch the inventory predictions directly from the map editor.
# 2.2.0 Release
June 17, 2025
- Inventory builds now support a user-defined offset distance (e.g. 3 miles) to automatically include nearby PDP wells.
- Builds now automatically update their status: successful builds are marked complete, and failed ones are marked failed. Use the
Compute
tab to refresh the status.
# 2.1.0 Release
June 3, 2025
- Improved speed of inventory builds by performing a direct database copy of data products when they are already available. Users should see a significant reduction in build time when running inventory predictions.
- Added a new 'Inventory' page under the 'Data' tab where users can create, edit, and paste a table of well locations that will get predictions. This allows users to quickly populate the inventory source table from inside PetroAI.
- Replaced many advanced configuration options with smart defaults to simplify the build configuration.
# 2.0.0 Release
May 19, 2025
- Users can now configure and launch builds on their own. This gives the full functionality of the PetroAI platform to our enterprise users.
- Load source data
- Customize feature extraction
- Specify features and filters to train models
- Run completions sensitivities, predict on inventory locations, and iterate on pad design
- Track build progress
# 1.0.0 Release
April 1, 2024
- Initial release of the PetroAI Cloud Platform.
